Uganda's Museveni Takes Tough Stance on Covid-19 Vaccines

President Yoweri Museveni, in his address to the nation on September 22, 2021, called for Covid-19 vaccination efforts to be ramped up, while warning officials of dismissal if any vaccines expire before use.

Nearly 12 million doses of a variety of Covid-19 vaccines, including Pfizer, Moderna, Johnson & Johnson, AstraZeneca, Sinovac and Sinopharm, is expected to arrive by the end of December 2021. 

As of September 23, 2021 confirmed cases of Covid-19 in Uganda reached 122,502, with 3,135 deaths and 95,939 recoveries. Over 1,643,067 vaccinations have been administered nationwide.
