South African Govt Proposes Policy to Limit Foreign Workers
The new labour policy will "introduce quotas on the total number of documented foreign nationals with work visas that can be employed in major economic sectors such as agriculture, hospitality and tourism, construction", Labour Minister Thulas Nxesi said, calling on all to engage and provide feedback on the new proposal.
Meanwhile, the Department of Home Affairs is also working on tightening porous borders. The department has also released list of scarce and critical skills in high demand to provide guidance to all institutions to prioritise education and training interventions in those areas.
