AFCON 2023 Postponed as WAFCON Games Take Off

The African Women Cup of Nations kicked-off on Saturday July 2, 2022 with giants Cameroon held to a goaless draw by Zambia. South Africa's Banyana Banyana beat Nigeria's Super Falcons on Monday July 4.

This as the 2023 edition of the Africa Cup of Nations, initially billed to take place in Cote d' Ivoire from June 2023, has been postponed to January 2024. The decision was taken during the Confederation of African Football's executive committee meeting held on Sunday July 3.
