Tributes Pour in for Former Special Assistant to Mandela

Tributes continue to pour in for the ruling ANC Deputy Secretary General and veteran anti-apartheid activist Yasmin 'Jessie' Duarte who died after a lengthy battle with cancer. In the eulogy delivered by President Cyril Ramaphosa, Duarte was described as a "faithful, dedicated and fiercely loyal leader" of the ANC. She served as the party's deputy secretary-general for almost 10 years, and as a member of the National Executive Council for 25 years.

Duarte served as special assistant to former South African president Nelson Mandela, was 68.
