New Kenya, Tanzania Road to Boost EAC Economy

Tanzanian President Samia Suluhu and Kenyan President Uhuru Kenyatta - the East African Community (EAC) presiding chairperson - have said that the Arusha Bypass will decongest the Arusha city, connect the EAC and stimulate businesses in the regional bloc. The two presidents officiated the 42.4km Arusha Bypass Road that links Arusha, Kilimanjaro and Manyara Regions and other parts of the regional trade bloc. The road is expected to boost tourism in the EAC member states.

The project worth U.S.93 Million from the African Development Bank, is expected to be one of the regional roads functioning as an international road connecting not only Kenya and Tanzania but will also link countries such as Burundi, Rwanda and Uganda and promote African economic development.
