How to Protect Uganda's Precious Wetlands #AfricaClimateCrisis

Uganda's government is evicting people and small businesses that have settled on the periphery of Kampala's wetlands. At the same time, corporates are taking up space and officials tasked with enforcing the protection of these areas say there are obstacles to persuing the wealthy.

Wetlands play an important role in filtering water, absorbing excess water due to high rainfall and as habitat for wildlife. This is especially important as Uganda's capital has seen an increase in floods.
