Ugandan Authorities, UN Health Agency Battle Ebola Outbreak

Ugandan authorities and the World Health Organisation are working to combat an outbreak of the deadly infectious Ebola disease in the country.

The first case was found in the Mubende district, causing health authorities declared an outbreak of the disease on September 20, 2022. The Nile Post reports that Ebola has been reported in Kasangati, Wakiso District.

This is the fifth time Uganda has reported an Ebola outbreak. The last outbreak was in 2018 and the deadliest was in 2000 where 224 deaths were reported. Others were in 2014 and 2017.
