Kenya President's Cabinet Lags In Ministerial Posts For Women

President William Ruto has named seven women to his 22-member Cabinet, which is far short of the 50% share he promised while on the campaign trail.

Former Kitui Deputy Governor Penina Malonza is the Tourism, Wildlife, and Heritage minister while Susan Nakhumicha Wafula is the new Cabinet Secretary for Health.

Some of the individuals nominated to the cabinet have taken to social media to express their gratitude to Ruto, for considering them in the team that will assist him to implement his first term plan.

The Mount Kenya region has reaped big in Ruto's administration after he nominated seven cabinet secretaries out of the twenty two.

Amani National Congress (ANC) Leader Musalia Mudavadi is now the Prime Cabinet Secretary and the third most powerful official in government. Mudavadi who was one of the key principals in the Kenya Kwanza Alliance will be required to assist the presidency in the coordination of ministries and state departments in liaison with the office of Ministry of Interior and Coordination.

Ruto has assured Kenyans that no part of the country will be left out in terms of development.
