U.S. Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen began her three-nation Africa trip with a stop in Senegal, where she met with Senegalese President and African Union chair Macky Sall, as well as ministers of finance and economy. She visited Goree Island and spoke of the "unspeakable cruelty" of the trans-Atlantic slave trade, and toured a U.S.-funded business incubator for youth and women in Dakar, Senegal.
