DR Congo's First Woman Prime Minister Takes Office

Judith Suminwa Tuluka, an economist, has been appointed as the first female Prime Minister of the Democratic Republic of Congo.

She is taking over from Jean-Michel Sama Lukonde and previously served as the planning minister. Tuluka's main focus will be on peace and development efforts, with special attention given to the conflict-ridden eastern provinces. She has expressed deep concern for the suffering of those affected by the ongoing violence and has reaffirmed her commitment to finding sustainable solutions to the crisis.

As Prime Minister, she faces the challenging task of guiding the nation towards stability and prosperity in the face of significant obstacles.
