Aid Workers Provide Relief After Mozambique Shipwreck

A fishing vessel off the coast of Nampula province, northern Mozambique, reportedly sank on April 7th, with nearly 130 people on board.

Following a tragic shipwreck off the coast of Mozambique, Doctors Without Borders (MSF) partnered with the Psychological Private Network to offer crucial aid to the affected communities. The victims, fleeing rumors of a cholera outbreak, were attempting to reach an island when the disaster struck.

MSF teams reached isolated communities in Lunga, where many families lost loved ones. The organization provided psychological first aid to bereaved families and health promotion training to community leaders. They also provided health promotion training to community leaders and addressed the rumors of a cholera outbreak.
