No More Special Handling of HIV+ Offenders - Zimbabwe High Court

The high court has called for an end to treating people with HIV infection as a special category of offenders since the disease is "no longer deadly due to advancement in treatment".

While handing down their ruling in an appeal, justices of the court said as "much as being HIV positive used to be scary and was viewed by many as terminal, it is a notorious fact, which the court will take judicial notice of, that this is no longer the case".
