Culture to Blame for Women Mistreatment in Uganda

According to former Ethics minister Miria Maatembe cultural beliefs are to blame for modern slavery in the country. Women are currently treated as commodities which has led to mistreatment in homes by their husbands. Now as anti human trafficking activists mark 125 years of slavery, they are calling for the operationalisation of the anti human traffic law in the country as a way to cub on the vice.
