Ghana has extended voting in its presidential election into a second day, officials said, after technical problems prevented thousands of people in the West African nation from casting their ballots on time.

Starting in the early morning hours of Friday, voters turned out for Ghana's sixth consecutive presidential and parliamentary elections since the country returned to democratic rule in 1992.
