South Africa Begins Process to Exit ICC

South Africa has sent a letter to the United Nations Secretary-General signalling its intention to withdraw from the International Criminal Court. The letter was written and signed by the International Relations and Cooperation Minister, Maite Nkoana-Mashabane. It says the withdrawal from the Rome Statute, which established the court, will take effect one year after the date of its receipt by the UN Chief.
