Ahmed Timol was a teacher, member of the South African Communist Party, a political activist and an Umkhonto we Sizwe operative who was arrested by security police and interrogated at the notorious John Vorster Square police headquarters in Johannesburg. He reportedly "fell" from the 10th floor window of the buidling and the incident was ruled as a suicide but his family always believed he was pushed.
