Auditor General Kimi Makwetu Auditor has announced his office's decision to terminate, with immediate effect, the government's auditing contracts with KPMG and Nkonki Inc citing risks to the reputation of his office. KPMG South Africa said on Saturday two of its partners have resigned after facing disciplinary charges over failure to disclose financial interests in connection to VBS Mutual Bank, which was placed under curatorship. Meanwhile the Chief Executive Officer of Nkonki resigned last week as a result of damaging allegations published in the media regarding his relationship with Gupta linked entities.
