While Bedaquiline, a new drug for the treatment of tuberculosis, is still in the clinical evaluation stage, it shows promising results. Doctors Without Borders/Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) admitted 29,000 people suffering from tuberculosis on first-line treatment in 2012. Long neglected by research efforts, these patients may soon enjoy the benefits of recent innovation.
