Two Golden Arrow buses have been set alight in Khayelitsha in Cape Town. This will put extra strain on commuters as some taxi operators are on a strike in the Western Cape today. Two local taxi associations are involved in a dispute with the South African National Taxi Council on various issues, including the impact of the high fuel price and route invasions. In a joint statement, the taxi associations CATA and Codeta say their demands have not been replied to by government and they have been left with no choice but to withdraw their services. We cross now to Mariska Botha who is at a taxi rank in Khayelitsha.
