Nigerian President Muhammadu Buhari hosted Africa Development Bank (AfDB) President Akinwumi Adesina at the State House and pledged full support to Adesina's bid for reelection as president of Africa's leading development finance institution. With the June 2nd endorsement of the Bank's largest shareholder, Buhari added his voice to growing support for Adesina and pushback against the May 22 letter from U.S. Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin demanding an investigation into ethics allegations that had been investigated and found "baseless and unsubstantiated" by a committee of the Board of Directors.
