Maputo — The last quarter-finalists in the Cosafa Castle Cup will be decided when Mozambique take on South Africa at the Maxaquene Stadium in Maputo on Sunday in the big-money southern African competition. Zimbabwe, the holders; Lesotho, last year's runners-up; Angola, Swaziland, Malawi and Mauritius are already through and will be joined by the winners on Sunday. There is also a berth for the best losing team from the first round, currently Zambia, but their future depends on the outcome of Sunday's match. South Africa were due to arrive in Maputo on Saturday with a weakened side composed entirely of local players following Wednesday's friendly match against Italy, and are further weakened by the absence of players from Kaizer Chiefs and league champions Sundowns who are involved in a domestic cup final. They received some respite with the inclusion of Thabo Mngomeni, Willem Jackson and Joseph Ngake following Orlando Pirates' surprise elimination from the same competition on Tuesday. Mozambique, on the other hand, are expected to field a full strength side including players from Europe and the South African league. These include the veteran Francisco 'Chiquinho' Conde Dario Monteiro, Thomas Ingaune and Manuel 'Tico Tico' Bucuane. A capacity crowd is expected at the 10,000-seater Maxaquene Stadium, the venue having been switched from the Machava Stadium, which has been taken over by a production company making a film about Mohammed Ali, featuring Denzel Washington. The draw for the quarter-finals will be conducted immediately after the match and the first of the quarter-finals will be played on May 18.
