South Africa: Mandela to Commemorate Machel's Death

Nelspruit — Former president Nelson Mandela will attend the commemoration of late Mozambican president Samora Machel at Mbuzini in Mpumalanga on Friday.

Mandela will be accompanied by deputy president Jacob Zuma.

Mpumalanga premier Ndaweni Mahlangu will also attend the commemoration at the site where Machel died in a plane crash 15 years ago.

The delegation from Mozambique will be led by president Joaquim Chissano.

Mbuzini is close to the Mozambican border, south of Komatipoort in Mpumalanga.

A monument has been erected at the site in memory of the late president and those who died with him. - African Eye News Service
