Mozambique: Maputo Telecoms Operator Picks Gaïa

Telecomunicações de Moçambique has selected Gaïa Global Mediation from Sofrecom to support the evolution of its services and network

Telecomunicações de Moçambique (TDM) is the incumbent fixed-line telecommunication operator in Mozambique.

Faced with the problem of interconnecting a multitude of network elements with its many information system applications, TDM has chosen, for its mediation solution, Sofrecom's Gaïa FCC product which provides data collection and archiving functions.

To cover its future needs, Sofrecom will also supply additional decision-making aids and standard interfaces with the operator's customer care and billing system.

According to Yves Baillet, Sofrecom's Director of Operations for Southern Africa: "This project strengthens the position of Sofrecom as a major provider of IT solutions for telecommunications operators in Southern Africa."

Thanks to its regional office in Pretoria, Sofrecom provides support to telecommunication operators and regulators in 13 countries in Southern Africa.
