Amsterdam — As part of its development in Africa, the international carrier, LinkAfrica (LA), which is part of MSI-CI, has signed two interconnection agreements with two private operators in Nigeria.

With this move, LinkAfrica, already interconnected with more than ten African countries, has achieved an important goal, namely getting into Africa's biggest market. "Nigeria represents an extremely important market in the telecommunications industry and with the new interconnections, LinkAfrica will be able to consolidate its presence in Africa through a constant development of its international network and an increase of its volume of traffic which has already tripled during the last twelve months", said Jean-Michel Trumpff, Managing Director.

LinkAfrica, whose teleport is in Belgium, has been growing thanks to its professionalism. Its new interconnections in Nigeria are a result of various preliminary meetings in Washington and in the LinkAfrica Belgium premises, as well as visits to Nigeria by representatives of LinkAfrica. Of the two contracts signed in Nigeria, one is with a licensed operator for international and national connections while the second is with a mobile phone operator.
