Nigeria — Western Union, a global leader of money transfer services has launched a new "Loyalty Campaign" promotion in Nigeria. The campaign rewards loyal customers of Western Union's fast, convenient and reliable money transfer services.

The 2007 "Loyalty Campaign" is mainly targeted at the MTN African Cup of Nations which takes place in Ghana from January to February 2008. The campaign itself will run from July 16th to December 31st 2007. This year's promotion offers more opportunities for winning exceptional gifts and other valuable prizes.

20 prize winners will be drawn at a grand draw scheduled to be held on January 17th, 2008. The Star Prize consists of a trip to Ghana 2008 to watch the ACN final which includes tickets, accommodation, transport and spending money. Other prizes to be won are: 10 Plasma TVs (2nd Prize), 20 2.5 KVA Generator Sets (3rd Prize) and 50 Mobile Phones as Consolation Prizes.

For this campaign, each customer in Nigeria who receives at least five (5) Western Union Money Transfers between July 16th 2007 and December 31st 2007 will be entitled to an instant gift to be determined by Western Union. In addition, each Nigerian customer who receives at least ten (10) Western Union Money Transfers between July 16th 2007 and December 31st 2007 will be entitled to a raffle ticket for the grand draw after the 10th transaction. Each customer will be required to provide proof that the customer personally sent or received the required number of Western Union Money Transfers before any gift or draw ticket will be provided. 2007 instant gifts include, subject to availability, T- shirts, exercise books, key holders, face towels, wallet and shopping bags.

The Western Union "Loyalty Campaign " is fast becoming a yearly reward-based marketing activity that offers loyal customers incentives in fulfilment of certain transactional requirements. In 2006, Western Union rewarded 20 customers with US$1,000 each, US$500 to 30 customers each and US$200 to 50 customers each totalling about US$45,000. Many more customers received instant gifts such as umbrellas or N500 international call cards.
