Bank Group Mission Discusses Regional Financial Integration with Cobac Officials

A Bank Group mission led by ONRI Lead Financial Economist, Michael I. Mah'moud, and comprising Messrs. Gabriel Mougani, Principal Financial Economist; and Jian Zhang, Principal Macroeconomist, held discussions, from December 18-19, 2008, in Yaoundé, with the Central African Banking Commission (COBAC) on the Bank's ongoing study on regional financial integration and ways of enhancing collaboration between the Bank and COBAC on support to financial integration efforts in the CEMAC region.

The mission also encouraged COBAC to participate in the forthcoming forum on Partnership for Making Finance Work for Africa (MFW4A). The mission signed an Aide-mémoire with the Advisor to the COBAC Secretary-General, Léandre Djummo, on the discussions and the way forward aimed at facilitating progress.

The mission also included CMFO Chief Country Economist, Racine Kane.
