Cote d'Ivoire: The Coach - Sven-Goran Eriksson

1 July 2010

After a disappointing quarterfinal finish in Angola sealed the fate of head coach Vahid Halilhodzic, the reins were handed to the former England coach.

Sven-Goran Eriksson led England to the quarterfinals at both the 2002 and 2006 World Cup finals. An unsuccessful stint with Mexico followed. Protests from the country's soccer fans were rewarded when he was sacked after less than a year.

He has coached clubs in Portugal, England and Italy, and Gothenburg FC to the UEFA Cup in 1982.
