ECOWAS Condoles With President Jonathan Over Fatal Chopper Crash

Abuja - Nigeria — The President of the ECOWAS Commission, His Excellency Kadré Désiré Ouédraogo has expressed his heartfelt sympathy and solidarity with President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan of Nigeria, over the Sunday 15th December 2012 helicopter crash that claimed the lives of six people, including a State Governor and former National Security Adviser.

"We received with utmost dismay the news of the helicopter accident," the ECOWAS Chief said in a condolence message to President Jonathan. On behalf of ECOWAS Institutions, he also expressed his sincere condolences to the affected families.

"While joining in the national prayers for the repose of the souls of these illustrious sons of the soil, I wish to renew to Your Excellency the expression of my highest consideration," President Ouédraogo added.
