South Africa: Bahamian Pastor Dies in Plane Crash

Pastor Myles Munroe, motivational speaker, has died in a plane crash. Earlier this year Munroe spoke at South African President Jacob Zuma's second inauguration ceremony.

Myles Munroe, a well-known religious leader and motivational speaker, and his wife Ruth were among those killed in the Lear business jet crash in the Bahamas, Kelley Jackson, a spokesperson from the Andrew J. Young Foundation has said.

Munroe wrote and co-wrote more than a hundred books during his career.

"Ambassador Young expresses his deep sadness over the tragic death of his friends Dr. Myles and Mrs. Ruth Munroe. He offers condolences to the Monroe family and the families of the other souls who lost their lives as a result of this shocking plane crash," the foundation said on its Facebook page.

in March 2014, the 60-year-old pastor attended the second inauguration of President Jacob Zuma at the Nelson Mandela Amphitheatre at the Union Buildings in Pretoria.

At the time, Munroe expressed his awe at the calibre of leaders in South Africa, saying that he is proud of the strides that South Africa has achieved in such a young democracy, according to the SABC.
