The African Development Bank Group Appoints Mrs. Nnenna Nwabufo As Country Manager, East Africa Regional Development and Business Delivery Office

The African Development Bank is pleased to announce the appointment of Mrs. Nnenna Nwabufo as the Country Manager, East Africa Regional Development and Business Delivery Office, with effect from December 1, 2016.

The East Africa Regional Development and Business Delivery Office is part of the new business approach of the Bank to accelerate its business and development impacts across Africa. As Country Manager, a new senior executive position in the Bank, Mrs. Nwabufo will be responsible for management oversight over country resident representatives and portfolio operations in key countries and serve as the deputy to the Director General in the overall management of the regional office operations.

Mrs. Nwabufo is a versatile and seasoned executive and brings 30 years of experience, spanning planning and management, treasury and financial management, budget programming and management, human resource management and management of corporate services.

Mrs. Nwabufo joined the African Development Bank in 1991 in the Treasury Department and over the last 25 years has built her career at the Bank, taking on roles of progressive responsibility including Manager in the General Services and Procurement Department, Director of Programming and Budget Department, Acting Director, Human Resource Management Department and Acting Vice President for Corporate Services.

Mrs. Nwabufo holds a Bachelor's degree in Economics from the University of Lagos, Nigeria, and a Master in Business Administration from Henley Management College, United Kingdom.

The President of the African Development Bank, Dr. Akinwumi Adesina, said of her appointment: "Mrs. Nnenna Nwabufo is a great asset to the Bank. She is selfless and known for superior capacity to deliver results in all her assignments at the Bank. She brings extensive senior level managerial experience which will help the Bank's operations now and in the years ahead".
