African Legal Support Facility Director Meets With Madagascar President

On December 19, the Director of the African Legal Support Facility, Stephen Karangizi together with Abdelkrim Bendjebbour, the Resident Representative of the African Development Bank (AfDB) in Madagascar met with Madagascar President, Hery Rajaonarimampianina.

The ALSF Director briefed President Rajaonarimampianina on the ALSF's strategic and operational objectives. He underscored the Facility's commitment to build closer cooperation/support to Madagascar across the ALSF's mandate and areas of competence in order to support Madagascar develop its energy, petroleum and fisheries sectors.

President Rajaonarimampianina, a former Vice President of the Governing Council of the ALSF from 2011 to 2012, stated that the support from the ALSF was welcome to negotiate contracts that will safeguard the interests of his country. He emphasized the need for stronger cooperation between Madagascar and the ALSF.
