The President of the African Development Bank (AfDB), Akinwumi Adesina, has been rated third most reputable personality in the world on the 2017 Most Reputable People on Earth list released by South Africa-based Reputation Poll.
Top on the list of the world's 100 most reputable persons released by the global performance-reputation management consulting agency, Reputation Poll International, is Aamir Khan, Indian film actor, director, and producer. In second place is multi-award-winning British singer and songwriter Adele.
Reputation Poll described the ranking as "a list of individuals across the globe that have amassed high reputation for themselves through their work and achievements." The list features individuals from diverse sectors, including policy, entertainment, leadership, education and business.
"Our model for measuring reputation is distinct and also very credible for the public to rely on," the firm said, noting that its polls are conducted with an average of 20,000 respondents who take part in nominations, research and voting.
Alex Ferguson manager of Manchester United scores fourth place on the list, followed by Alexis Tsipras, Prime Minister, Greece; Andrew Hamilton, former Vice-Chancellor, University of Oxford ; Angelina Jolie, actress; and António Guterres, Secretary-General of the United Nations.
Other notable personalities on the list include Barack and Michelle Obama, (10); Benjamin Netanyahu; Prime Minister, Israel (11); Bill and Melinda Gates (12); Nigerian author Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie (17); Christiane Amanpour, TV Host, CNN (19); soccer stars Christiano Ronaldo (20) and David Beckham (25); Christine Lagarde, Managing Director, International Monetary Fund (21); Darren Walker, President, Ford Foundation (24); Desmond Tutu , Retired Anglican Bishop (27); Ngozi Okonjo Iweala, former Nigerian Finance Minister (28); Jeff Bezos, Founder, Amazon (44); Jennifer Lopez, singer (45); John Legend, singer (46); Pope Francis (73); Richard Branson, Founder of Virgin Group (79); Steve Forbes, Editor-in-Chief, Forbes magazine (85); Sundar Pichai, CEO, Google (88); and Tim Cook, CEO, Apple (92).
