In this article we want to point attention to a young boxeur who is considered by many experts the future superstar of the Australian boxing scene. We are talking about Brock Jarvis, 23 years old featherweight athlete from Sydney, trained by Jeff Fenech, undoubtedly the best boxer of all time in Australia, being World Champion in three different weight categories as reported in the most read betting tips websites in the world.
Brock Jarvis’ beginnings
Boxing was not the first sporting vocation of the young Jarvis who until the age of 15 dreamed of becoming a professional rugby player. Together with his teammates he went to the Cronulla gym to integrate the specific training adding some boxing 101 fundamentals, in order to strengthen his physique and have better performances on the rugby pitch.
Slowly Jarvis begins to become familiar with this new sport and training routine, having a lot of fun, working hard and dedicating himself completely to boxing considering that his weight and physique would not allow him to practice rugby as a professional.
Given the boy's skill and passion for boxing, at the age of 16, his father took Brock Jarvis to meet Jeff Fenech, a family friend since Brock's grandmother was the champion's trusted nutritionist when he was a professional boxer. From that moment, given Jarvis' skill despite his teenager physique, the former Australian boxer took the youngster under his wing.
Jarvis’ professional debut in 2015
In December 2015, at the age of 18, it was time for him to make his professional debut, which took place in Bangkok (Tha), where he won the match against Ekkawit Thongmee on points. In March 2019, in Australia, Brock Jarvis won the IBF Youth Bantamweight Belt against Philip Luis Cuerdo by KO in the first round.
Brock Jarvis - Back in the ring after the global pandemic
After a year of inactivity due to the Covid 19 health emergency, Brock Jarvis returned to the ring, Dec 11, 2020 in Canberra, knocking out the unbeaten compatriot Mark Schleibs during the fifth round, winning the WBO Global and IBF Pan Pacific Beltsin the featherweights category. Jarvis’ performance was more than convincing and, despite the inactivity during the Covid 19 emergency, his star returned to shine.
"Brock continues to improve match after match even though he is still a beginner. With him we have to go one step at a time, without putting the cart before the horse. As soon as this damn pandemic is over, we will go and fight in the United States."
Right now Brock Jarvis’ career is managed by D&L Events, founded by Dean Lonergan. Lonergan manages the “next big thing” of the heavyweights category, Justis Huni, and has great experience in the business. He organized the WBO welterweight match in Brisbane between Manny Pacquiao and Jeff Horn, in 2017.
