According to Amini Kajunju, Executive Director of the IUGB Foundation, "The objective of the virtual gala is to raise money for under-resourced students across the continent of Africa to attend the IUGB in Côte d'Ivoire. 100% of the funds raised will go to under-resourced students seeking to complete a four-year degree at IUGB."
The IUGB was formally established as an accredited institution of higher education in Côte d'Ivoire in 2007 with 17 students enrolled. Today, IUGB's enrollment has grown to more than 800 students from 21 countries in Africa who can receive bachelor's degrees from the following two schools: the school of Business and Social Sciences (BSS) and the school of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM). Degrees are offered in Business Administration, Political Science, Mathematics, Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, and Mechanical Engineering Technology.
The IUGB Foundation was launched in 2014 to support the mission of the university in Cote d'Ivoire. It is managed by a group of highly committed professionals and board members. The Foundation is tasked with fundraising, partnership and program development, marketing, and communication. The Foundation's flagship program is its scholarship fund for under-resourced students attending IUGB.
