Africa: Nearly 295 Million Vaccinations Administered Across Continent

As of May 5, 2022, confirmed cases of Covid-19 from 55 African countries reached  11,540,181 while over  294,169,448 vaccinations have been administered across the continent.

Reported deaths in Africa reached  252,930 and  9,689,364 people have recovered. South Africa has the most reported cases of  3,808,368 and  100,407 people died. Other most-affected countries are Morocco (  1,165,026 ) , Tunisia (  1,040,712 ), Egypt (  515,645 ), Libya (  501,904 ),  Ethiopia (  470,647 ), and Kenya (  323,806 ).

The numbers are compiled by the Center for Systems Science and Engineering (CSSE) at Johns Hopkins University (world map) using statistics from the World Health Organization and other international institutions as well as national and regional public health departments.
