Africa: Over 11.5 Million Covid-19 Cases Confirmed Across Africa

As of May 8, 2022, confirmed cases of Covid-19 from 55 African countries reached  11,569,823   while over  294,169,448 vaccinations have been administered across the continent.

Reported deaths in Africa reached  253,055   and  9,704,447  people have recovered. South Africa has the most reported cases of  3,835,902  and  100,516  people died. Other most-affected countries are Morocco (  1,165,206  ) , Tunisia (  1,040,712   ), Egypt ( 515,645), Libya ( 501,904),  Ethiopia (  470,730 ), and Kenya (  323,868 ).

The numbers are compiled by the Center for Systems Science and Engineering (CSSE) at Johns Hopkins University (world map) using statistics from the World Health Organization and other international institutions as well as national and regional public health departments.
