Ghana: Yendi MP, Turkish NGO Donate Cow, Food Items to Muslim

Yendi — The Member of Parliament for Yendi Constituency in the Northern Region, Alhaji Farouk Aliu Mahama, in partnership with Turkish Charity Organisation, a Non Governmental Organisation, yesterday presented 100 cattles to needy Muslims in his constituency for the celebration of Eid Al-Adha.

The MP earlier on Friday donated 1000 bags rice, 500 boxes of mackerel, cooking oil, boxes of salt and boxes of spaghetti to the needy for the Eidul-Adha celebration.

The presentation formed part of his gesture to support the needy Muslim to celebrate the Eidul-Adha with happiness.

The beneficiary people includes the Imams, mosques, women, youth groups opinion leaders and chiefs.

The other people also benefited from the presentation were party supporters, political head elders and the less-privileged within the constituency.

At a ceremony to do the slaughtering of the animals, the MP said it was his widow's mite to support the needy Muslims to also celebrate the Eidul-Adha.

Alhaji Farouk Aliu Mahama who is the son of the Late Former Vice President AlhajiAliuMahama said it was something that his late father was doing which he was emulating the good works of his late father to Muslim Ummah.

The MP said this year's Eidul-Adha celebration came at a time that, the country was grappling with economic challenges and urged the beneficiaries to pray hard for the country to recover from the challenges.

Alhaji Mahama called on Muslims to endeavour to pray for the President Nana AkuffoAddo and the entire government to steer the affairs of this country effectively.

He also urged Muslims across the globe to share the little they have to support those who could not afford during this period of Eidul-Adha celebration.

Alhaji Alhassan Marazuk an Imam of Al Uthmaa Mosque on behalf of the beneficiary thanked the MP for doing a Charity work.

He said the MP's gift had come at the right time as many of them did not know where to look up to, to feed their families, adding "your food items have really brought relief tous, at least our wives will now look at us and smile."
