9 August 2022

A 15-year-old boy identified as Hamza Yahaya has attempted suicide by entrapping himself inside the upper level of Kofar Nassarawa Bridge in Kano over a N4,000 debt.

The spokesman of the state fire service, Saminu Yusuf Abdullahi, said they received a distress call around 2pm that a boy was found on the pavement of a bridge and rescued.

He explained that, "He told us he is a resident of Sharada area and that he ran away from home to the area about three months ago because their neighbour sent him on errand with N4,000 and he spent the money.

"We have handed him over to one the police at Kwalli Division."
