FBNBank Ghana Limited, a leading commercial bank in the country, has pledged to its commitment to positively impact the society in which the bank operates and put its stakeholders first.

Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of the Bank, Mr Victor Yaw Asante, who made the pledge in Accra yesterday during a donation of GH¢165, 000 to support to some charity organisations, said the Bank would continue to put the society first in its operations and focused on exceptional customer service for its clients.

The beneficiary organisations are the Ministry of Youth and Sports which received GH¢100,000, Village of Hope (GH¢20,000), Lifeline for Childhood Cancer Ghana (GH¢20,000) Aequitas Foundation (GH¢10,000), Seekapor Ghana (GH¢10,000) and Discovery Publications (GH¢5000).

Mr Asante said the bank continued to exist and thrive because of its customers and the society and would continue to support initiatives that promoted the development of the various communities in the country.

"It is in our brand's DNA to place our stakeholders first. For us at FBNBank, it is, therefore, a matter of habit to attend to the needs of our communities and deliver value to them," he said.

Touching on the donation, Mr Asante said it formed part of activities to mark the bank's 2022 Corporate Responsibility and Sustainability (CR&S) Week which started on Monday, August 22, 2022 and would end on Friday, August 26, 2022.

He said donation was to support the beneficiary organisations which were engaged in education and humanitarian activities such as caring for the poor and vulnerable in society and counselling for the youth and adolescents, as the Bank marked its CR&S Week.

He said the CR&S Week of FBNBank Ghana Limited was on the theme "Making kindness a way of life."

"Over the years, our parent company, FirstBank and its subsidiaries including FBNBank Ghana has devoted a full week to focusing the bank's attention and efforts on our communities; delivering benefit to the people in a responsible and sustainable way," Mr Asante said.

He said the objective of the CR&S Week, was to reach out to and encourage staff, customers, and the public to inspire and imbibe acts of kindness, not only during the Week, but as a culture.

"Through the celebrations, we intend to positively impact our communities and encourage our staff and other stakeholders to make personal and corporate efforts to deliver hope and benefit to persons and communities in disadvantage positions," Mr Asante, said.

Mr Asante said the donation of GH¢100, 000 to the Ministry of Youth and Sports brought to GH¢200, 000 the amount FBNBank Ghana Limited had donated to the Black Stars towards the preparation of the 2022 AFCON and the 2022 FIFA World Cup slated for Qatar.

The MD/CEO of FBNBank Ghana Limited pledged that his outfit would donate GH¢500, 000 to the Black Stars if they won the Qatar 2022 FIFA World Cup.

The Founder of Discovery Publications, Mrs Mercy C. Adjabeng, who spoke on behalf of the beneficiary organisations expressed gratitude to FBNBank Ghana Limited for the support.

She said the donations would go a long way to support the operations of the various beneficiary organisations and urged her colleagues to use the monies judiciously and their intended purpose.
