Nigeria: Bandits Kill 5, Abduct 8 in Niger Community

Bandits have shot dead five persons while abducting eight others at Pampo village in Lapai LGA of Niger State.

A resident, Shuaibu Usman, who is a relative of one of the abducted victims, confirmed the incident through telephone to our reporter on Monday.

He said the bandits rode into the community on motorcycles and shot sporadically, killed five villagers and abducted eight persons, including two housewives.

Usman added that four persons sustained gunshot injuries and were receiving treatment at a private hospital.

He further said the bandits also burgled shops and chemists.

When contacted, the spokesman of the Niger State Police Command, ASP Wasiu Abiodun, asked our reporter to give him time to get the details of the incident from the DPO of Lapai.
