Liberia: 'Deep Void'

Scores of tributes continue to flow in following the death of influential Paramount Chief of Lofa County, Momo Taylor.

He was a descendant of legendary, Chief Tamba Taylor.

Speaking to reporters following the demise of Chief Tamba, a prominent son of Lofa County, Momo Cyrus described the death of Chief Tamba as a great loss and a deep void to Lofa and the Country in general.

Due to his immense contribution to Lofa County and the Country at large, Cyrus called for a befitting burial to be accorded the former statesman.

The influential son of Lofa who normally preached the messages of peace and reconciliation in Lofa encourages his kinsman to use the death of their uncle to unite and reconcile their differences in order to move the County forward.

"Let's see Lofa as our common denominator and forge ahead with development, unity, peace and reconciliation as our pillar to achieve such milestone", he urged his people.

In his condolence message, he stressed that he and his team including his entire family mourn with the people of Foya and also celebrate the extraordinary life of a remarkable leader who delivered an impactful leadership since his enthronement as the Cultural Leader of Foya Statutory District several years ago.

According to Cyrus, the fallen Paramount Chief was an icon of peace, unity, reconciliation and development, something he urges Lofians to emulate.

His impactful contribution, the SEGAL boss stated, was demonstrated by his steady efforts in driving the developmental agenda of Foya and Lofa in particular.

He at the same time hailed Paramount Chief Taylor for helping to preserve the cultural heritage of Foya, and Lofa as a whole.

The former Senatorial candidate further indicated that the fallen influential son of Lofa will be remembered for his crucial role in uniting the people of Foya and Lofa at large.

"He played a major role in uniting politicians of Foya and Lofa in general, irrespective of their political affiliations", Cyrus re-emphasized.

Moreover, he pointed out that the late Paramount Chief Taylor was a very humble leader who was always willing to give a listening ear to everyone and took all challenges that came with being a leader with ultimate calmness.

"The demise of Paramount Chief Taylor is a big loss to Lofa and we joined others to console the bereaved family and people of Lofa over his death; as we pray that the deep void created by his departure will be rightly filled", Cyrus pointed out.

The late Paramount Chief Momo Tamba died on Sunday, October 2, 2022 in Foya District, Lofa County.
