Gambia: Nana Grey Johnson Prize for Short Fiction Shortlist Revealed

Ahead of the maiden International Kunta Kinteh Book Festival, shortlisted candidates for the Nana Grey Johnson Prize for Short Fiction have been revealed by the Young Writers Association of The Gambia (YWAG).

The prize by YWAG is intended to map out opportunities to empower Gambian writers; help propel youth voices into the global dialogue and reveal plans about the upcoming book festival.

Sanusi Camara, Momodou Jarjue, Fatoumatta Jallow (Toufa), Batuly Jallow, Babucar Jallow, Fatoumatta Bayo and Kawsu Sanneh are among those shortlisted.

Also shortlisted for the award are Mam Isatou Jobe, Lena Eunice Akua Jatta, Awa Divine Bojang, Alsana Jatta, Bassirou Jallow, and Haddijatou Jobe

The prize will be awarded on 15th October 2022 by the Young Writers' Association of The Gambia (YAG) at Alliance Francaise.
