Liberia: Suspended ALP Chair Distances From Lrd2million Saga

The suspended chairman of the All Liberian Party (ALP) Nimba County chapter, Bob Yini, has distanced himself from report that he received over 2 Million Liberians Dollars from Representative Prince Tokpah as empowerment to sway voters from Garr Clan. The clan forms part of electoral district#2, where Yini is reportedly an aspirant for the district seat.

But chairman Yini says he has had no discussion with Representative Prince Tokpah about any financial help.

The suspended ALP official narrates that he is currently involved in self-help developmental activities in several towns in Garr Clan, including donation of cement and cash to enable citizens undertake development.

Meanwhile, several citizens of Garr, who spoke with the NEW DAWN correspondent in Nimba said Journalist Nya G. Flomo is the best aspirant instead, to contest for the district seat, among the rest of the aspirants who have reportedly expressed interest to vie there.

They said Mr. Nya G. Flomo to be involved in huge developmental activities, promoting unity and providing scholarships as well as construction of bridges in towns and villages.

According to them, Journalist Flomo has been collaborating with the Norway Refugee Council in mediating land disputes among citizens of Nimba, which has helped reduce land conflicts in the county. Editing by Jonathan Browne
