The Assistant Commandant (ASCOM) Junior Division of the Ghana Armed Forces Command and Staff College (GAFCSC), Brigadier General Albert Dawohoso has been adjudged the best farmer for La Dade-Kotopon Municipal Assembly (LaDMA) last Friday.
He was recognised at the 38th National Farmers' Day Celebration held at the International Trade Fair Centre in Accra on the theme "Accelerating agricultural development through value addition."
He received a Royal 150cc motorcycle, knapsack sprayer and a certificate among other others in recognition of his significant contribution to the development of the agricultural sector.
Other farmers, including a 49 Engineer Regiment Defence Civilian Staff, Mr Leslie Okpoti was adjudged Best Livestock Farmer and six others were honoured in recognition of their immerse contributions to food production in the Municipality.
They were presented with items ranging from Chest Freezers to Television Sets.
Speaking at the ceremony, the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) of La-Dade Kotopon, Mr Solomon KoteyNikoi commended the hardworking farmers for their sacrifices in providing Ghanaians with sustenance.
Brig. Gen. Dawohoso in his address expressed his appreciation to God and the Chief of the Defence Staff, Vice Admiral Seth Amoama and all personnel of the Ghana Armed Forces for their relentless support.
He admonished the youth to venture into farming with new ideas to support National efforts.
