The African Union Commission and the African Development Bank Group will host a press conference on Friday, 17 February 2023, to discuss the Africa's Macroeconomic Performance and Outlook 2023 report, first launched on January 19.

This publication offers policymakers, global investors, researchers, and other development partners, up-to-date, evidence-based assessments of the continent's recent macroeconomic performance. It also provides a short-to-medium-term outlook.

Speakers will include H.E. Moussa Faki Mahamat, Chairperson, African Union Commission, Prof. Kevin Urama, Acting Chief Economist and Vice President at the African Development Bank, and Prof. Jeffrey Sachs, Director, Center for Sustainable Development, Columbia University.

The Bank Group and the African Union Commission are also undertaking a study on driving inclusive growth and sustainable development in Africa. This study seeks to identify key actions to place African countries on a path of a sustained economic growth rate of 7 - 10%, key to breaking vicious cycles of poverty.
