The Ghana's Ambassador to Spain, Mr Mohammad Adam has urged the Economic Community of West Africa States (ECOWAS) to make its partnership open to Spanish investors.

He has stressed the need for ECOWAS to consider a business forum with the Spanish Chamber of Commerce and the Spanish Confederation of Business Organisations (CEOE) umbrella to enable business investors geton-board, share their experiences and investment projections with the community.

"This could be of immense benefits to the organisation in terms of its quest to maintain peace, economic stability and security in the sub-region," he added.

Mr Adam said this during the interaction section with the Diplomatic Corps of Africa in Spain and the leadership of ECOWAS at the just ended Spain - ECOWAS seminar held in Madrid, Spain.

The seminar sought to strengthen existing mutual relationships between the two as part of the "Focus Africa 2023 Plan."

Mr Adam said businesses operating in Africa; specifically West Africa could chalk more successes if they widened their partnership scope.

"This business world in Spain when given the opportunity could provide needful tools to support the ECOWAS region and its agencies by increasing investments, jobs, shelter, commerce, social amenities and providing more to the economic sustainability mechanisms for the millions of inhabitants in the community," he added.

Mr Adam applauded the relentless efforts of the leadership of ECOWAS and its new administration and proposed that it brought on board other well-meaning individuals and organisations willing to support the agenda of ensuring security and promoting investment in the sub-region.

Minister of Foreign Affairs, European Union and Cooperation, Spain, José Manuel Albares Bueno assured the Commission of Spain's unflinching supportto ensure the successful implementation of its major strategic plans.
