Liberia: Discoveries Sports Association Prepared for National Third Division Playoff

Monrovia — The highly anticipated national third division playoff of the Liberia Football Association (LFA) is set to kick off today, Friday, May 26, 2023, at the Antoinette Tubman Stadium (ATS), where 32 teams will compete for three-second division promotional slots.

Among the qualifying teams is Discoveries Sports Association (DSA), a third-division side based in Gardnerville. Ahead of the playoff, DSA's founder and President, Emmanuel D. Weiah, is urging the team's head coach, Aveiro Baryogar, the technical staff, and the players to maintain a positive mindset and rise to the challenges they will face during the competition.

Weiah emphasized that Discoveries FC has provided comprehensive support to its players and now it is their turn to deliver the necessary results and achieve their primary goal of qualifying for the LFA second division league.

Recalling the recent LFA Montserrado County third division playoff, where Discoveries FC finished as runner-up to champions Pepper FC with a narrow 1-0 defeat on May 15, 2023, Weiah expressed confidence in his team's ability to perform well. Both Discoveries FC and Pepper FC have been undergoing intensive training sessions in preparation for the upcoming national playoff.

Weiah announced that Discoveries FC's first match in the LFA national playoff is scheduled for Sunday, May 28, 2023, against Zone Four United FC from Maryland County at the ATS. He conveyed his team's readiness not only for their opening game but also for the subsequent matches in the playoff. Weiah urged Coach Baryogar, the technical staff, and the players to leave no stone unturned in their pursuit of qualifying for the second division stage of the LFA.

Highlighting the history of Discoveries FC, Weiah mentioned that the club was established in 2019 and this marks their inaugural appearance in the LFA third division national playoff. The team is eager to make a strong impression and showcase their abilities on a national platform.

Football enthusiasts and fans of Discoveries FC are eagerly awaiting the kickoff of the national third division playoff, as they hope to witness a thrilling competition between the participating teams vying for a chance to advance to the second division.
