The president of the African Development Bank, Dr. Akinwumi Adesina, will join African leaders, and global experts at the Africa50 Infra for Africa Forum and General Shareholders Meeting in Lomé, Togo, from 3 to 4 July 3023. Adesina is chairman of the Africa50 Board of Directors.
The theme of this year's forum is Bankable, Scalable, Replicable.
Most parts of Africa still lag behind global levels of coverage in infrastructure, including energy, transport and logistics, and railways. Closing this infrastructure gap is important for both African and global development, helping to reduce poverty, promote regional integration and mitigate climate change.
More than 50 speakers are expected, including Togolese president Faure Gnassingbé, Sani Yaya, Minister of Economy and Finance; Tidjane Thiam, Executive Chairman, Freedom Acquisition 1 Corporation; Paula Ingabire, Minister of ICT and Innovation, Rwanda; Seedy K. M. Keita, Gambian Minister of Finance and Economic Affairs; Amadou Hott, Special Envoy for the Alliance for Green Infrastructure in Africa and Africa50 CEO Alain Ebobissé.
They will also be joined by Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, Director-General of the World Trade Organisation; Rachel Balsham, Director-General of East and Southern Africa, Mobile Financial Services Africa; and Chinua Azubike, Director-General of Infra Credit.

The Africa50 General Shareholders Meeting is the organization's annual gathering of board members, shareholders, and senior staff to set priorities for the coming year.
This year, Africa50 will also host the inaugural Infra for Africa Forum, bringing together public and private sector thought leaders to share their expertise on infrastructure investments relevant to Africa's development needs.
