The African Development Bank will organise a side event at the Africa Food Systems Forum in Dar es Salam, Tanzania, under the title "Post-Dakar 2: Food Sovereignty and Resilience."
The forum will provide a platform to assess progress on implementing outcomes of the Africa Food Summit, also known as the Dakar 2 Summit. It will bring together representatives from governments, the private sector, multilateral organisations, development partners, civil society, and researchers. They will discuss priorities and alignment of investment projects and mobilisation of financing for agriculture in Africa.
The event will feature two panel discussions for African Development Bank governors, and development partners. There will also be private sector sessions on topical issues that advance Africa's agricultural transformation. Topics of discussion include the following:
Africa's food resilience and sovereignty imperatives after Dakar 2.
Partnership and resources mobilisation around the food and agriculture delivery compacts to achieve food security at scale.
The African Development Bank's Special Agro-Industrial Processing Zones initiative and roles of investors and private sector players for going to scale, post-Dakar 2.
Financial intermediation for the future of Dakar 2: risk-sharing facility and non-sovereign operations perspectives.
