What: Webinar on the role of the regulator in the energy transition

Who: The African Forum for Utility Regulators (AFUR) and the African Development Bank

The African Forum for Utility Regulators (AFUR) and the African Development Bank will jointly host a webinar on 15 November 2023 to look at the role of the regulator in the energy transition.

The webinar will bring together national and regional electricity regulatory authorities, senior government officials from Africa's energy ministries, development partners, the private sector, policy and technical experts, academia, think tanks, and civil society groups. They will discuss case studies from the continent, as well as specific areas and interventions in energy regulation to encourage energy transition.

There will be two sessions as outlined below:

Presentations on the role of the regulator in the energy transition, including two case studies.

A panel discussion on the presentations and critical regulatory issues relating to Africa's energy transition.
